ARIZONA FINE ART
Stone Sculpture | Bronze Sculpture | Copper Artworks
by Kenneth Borchardt
Self-taught and self-trained, Ken Borchardt is a midwest sculptor happy to be relocated in Arizona. Ken practices a variety of self-developed and time-tested methods in his art. His sculpting practices utilize both direct and modeling methods, using a variety of media. He has expertly worked with exotic hardwoods, ceramic, stone and bronze mediums. There is a definite signature to Ken’s Arizona Fine Art, Stone Sculpture, and Copper Artworks, but the style is ever-evolving.
The popular Mother Nature’s Series consisted of seven different Limited Edition bronze sculptures of earthly free form designs. His Mother Nature’s Series was inspired by the Midwest landscapes of the artist’s original Minnesota home. With specific interest in exploring the human figure, Ken’s Arizona sculpture and copper artwork has a signature of blending realistic forms with abstract angles.
After a decade of visiting his Arizona properties on vacation and to partake in local Arizona Art Shows, including the Arizona Fine Art Expo 2018, Ken and his wife, Cynthia, moved to AZ in 2016. Happily nestled in their Sedona home, Ken and Cynthia are often out hiking the incredible trails and landscapes of the area. Ken has an ever-developing studio nearby where he creates the landscape-inspired copper artworks seen here.

“I want to give an impression of energy and emotion through the structure and form of each sculpture.”
Ken successfully blends organic, realistic and abstract elements into a cohesive whole. Using a variety of patina application techniques, Ken has been able create a diverse range of patina effects for his bronze sculpture.
The warm, stunning designs of his copper artworks come to life during a unique heat process the artist has developed.
